Visits and scheduling
Are new patients welcome? Yes. Call 386.325.2836 to schedule.
What are the hours? Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Can I cancel or change? Yes, please give at least 24 hours notice.
What should I bring? Insurance card, photo ID, a list of medicines and any recent test results.
FCCI has scheduled heart visits for Northeast Florida patients since 2002, and with more than 30 providers there is usually an opening sooner than you might expect.
Already in HCA Florida Putnam Hospital? You do not need to schedule. FCCI physicians cover there around the clock, so just ask for one.
Tests and procedures
Is there a cath lab in Palatka? Yes. FCCI opened its outpatient cath lab in Palatka in 2016. It is AAAHC accredited.
Can I get a stress test here? Palatka is one of FCCI's five nuclear cardiology lab locations.
How long is recovery after a cath? Usually 1 to 5 hours in a private room.

Emergencies
Short answer: an emergency is not an office visit. For chest pain, trouble breathing, fainting or signs of stroke such as face drooping, arm weakness or slurred speech, call 911 and let paramedics take you.
The office handles appointments and non-emergency questions during business hours. It is not an emergency service.
Once you reach HCA Florida Putnam Hospital, ask for First Coast Cardiovascular Institute. FCCI physicians cover there 24 hours a day.
The Zeagler Drive office keeps regular weekday hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and is not set up for emergencies. Call 386.325.2836 for anything that can safely wait.

Do you accept Medicaid?
Medicaid of Florida, Sunshine Medicaid and Simply Medicaid are accepted. Humana Medicaid is not.
